The goal of this assignment is for you to reflect critically on the content of ONE of the Modules we have studied during the course of the summer and research other sources that eithersupplement (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. This assignment is digital in that it asks you to hyperlink your sources within the body of the essay (see word definitions above as an example). In this way, your essay contains within it the original material to which you are referring, both the assigned sources and those you find on your own.

1. Ibsen, Henrik. An Enemy of the People (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.(play) Gutenberg version. You may choose which format to read it in, butyou must read the entire play.

2. Whittle, Stephen. “Journalists as CitizensPreview the document.” British Journalism Review 15.4(2005): 54-57. (British, click on hyperlink, 4 pages)

3. Junes, RonNell Andersen and Lisa Grow Sun. “Enemy Construction and the Press.Preview the document” Utah Law Faculty Scholarship17 http://dc.law.utah.edu/scholarship/17 (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. (60 pages–must read all. Click on hyperlink. It mentions President Trump, but also, Presidents Kennedy, Nixon, Carter, and Obama and their treatment of the press)

2. Identify three other credible sources that relate to the topic of the Module in some way, by either being similar to it, by providing additional and/or more recent examples, or by looking at the same idea in a different national context or media.

Your sources must be as follows:

ONE has to be in a non-print media (podcast, video, image).
ONE must be from an international news outlet such as the British Broadcasting Corporation (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. (BBC), the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.(CBC), Australian Broadcasting Corporation (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. (ABC), Spiegel Online International (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. (German news in English), or Le Monde in English (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. (French news in English)
Follow the criteria for “Evaluating Internet Resources. (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.” from Georgetown University Libraries.
Your essay must contain hyperlinks to each of your 3 additional sources, as well as to those assigned texts from the module that apply to your overall analysis.
3. Write a 500 word essay in which you propose an analytical thesis about any aspect of the topic of the module and uses the three new articles as well as some of the original materials as textual support for you claims. Format: Word or Google Docs (but share it with us as well as upload a link if you use Google.iu.edu).

To help in framing your thesis, reflect upon how these different sources shed a different light (either through adding info, subtracting it, or presenting it through a different lens) on the topic you learned about initially through the Module
**Here’s an example of what a Digital Portfolio essay with hyperlinks should look like. This is an entry into the popular blog “Grad Hacker” which discusses the importance of faculty and grad instructors holding office hours “Words with Students (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.“. While the topic has nothing to do with your prompt, look at how all the orange sections (hyperlinks) embed the source material which supports the claims the write is making.

**Strict about word limits- 490- 510 .
